Thermacore® Insulated Steel Doors
Thermacore is Overhead Door Corporation's premier series of insulated steel doors. The insulation is a rigid, foamed-in-place polyurethane core, free of ozone
damaging CFCs and HCFCs. The insulation is fully encapsulated to prevent the loss of thermal efficiency over time.
The interior and exterior section surfaces are roll-formed, hot-dipped galvanized steel,
with a pebble grain embossment. Sections are manufactured by a continuous foamed-in-place polyurethane lamination process, resulting in a metal-foam-metal
sandwich of homogeneous polyurethane insulation. R-Values of up to 17.50 are achieved. The finish is a two coat baked-on polyester paint.
Weatherstrips between sections are EPDM rubber tube seals fitted inside every joint. The bottom weatherstrip is an EPDM rubber bulb-type strip.
The galvanized steel track is 2" standard or 3" optional, and angle mounted. Bracket-mounting is an option on all but full vertical door tracks. All hinges and fixtures are galvanized steel.
Standard springs are 10,000 cycle. Higher cycle springs are available as an option. Operation is by manual pull rope. Chain hoist and electric motor operation are options.
The door lock is an interior mounted slide lock. A 5-pin tumbler keyed lock is optional.
Other options include thermal glazing, aluminum sash sections, a special high usage
package, a 4-section pedestrian pass door (not available on 593 Series), Posi-Tension drums, safety bottom fixture, bottom sensing edge, EPDM rubber header seal and jamb weatherstrip.
